The SCOCC Heritage Tour takes place every year in September. The first Heritage tour was in 2012, and this year’s 2023 tour will be the eleventh in twelve years.
September is always packed with action: in South Africa it is Heritage Month, Tourism Month, and we celebrate National Braai Day. In addition, it is SAVVA’s National Drive It Day – all opportunities that one can fully enjoyed in the good company of old cars and their owners.
This year’s SCOCC Heritage Tour of almost 1200km takes place in the Overberg, and extends over 4 days from 22 – 25 September 2023.

It’s that time of year when Grade 12 students all over the country start finalising their outfits and after-parties for that big end-of-school-days shindig: matric farewell arrangements seem to enjoy as much attention as final exams. And in many cases, the ride involved rates as highly as the youngsters’ attire and the date on their arm.
Matrics in the Southern Cape has an unfair advantage when it comes to the availability of well-preserved cars, ranging from antique to vintage to classic. And whereas many may prefer a chariot fresh off the production line, a discerning posse is aware that George and surrounds house numerous members of the Southern Cape Old Car Club (SCOCC), some of whom own several incredibly cool old cars, often availed for special occasions.
“Our members are not only obsessed with old cars, but also feel very strongly about the preservation and restoration of cars from days gone by. It is especially satisfying to show the fruits of our painstaking maintenance work to the younger generation,” says Pierre.
The preservation of our automobile heritage is a subject very close to the heart of Erfenistoer organiser Pierre Olivier, and this year’s road trip from September 22 to 25 will once again present an opportunity to expose Western Cape residents to the fine art of automobile preservation.
Promoted by the Southern Cape Old Car Club the HERITAGE TOUR by Recollection Rides will held from 23 to 26 September 2021.
The tour will be promoted by the Southern Cape Old Car Club and will take place from 20 to 24 September 2019 from George to Graaff Reinet via Uniondale, Willowmore, Aberdeen and Graaff Reinet where we will stay over for three nights. On Monday 23 September we will travel to Jeffreys Bay for the last night where the Gala evening will be hosted. On Tuesday 24 September we will travel from Jeffreys Bay to George where the tour will end.
This year the tour is planned to visit the flower area of the West Coast. Click here to read more…

Eastern Cape Route for 6th Liquorland Heritage Tour
George – The Southern Cape Old Car Club’s (SCOCC) sixth Liquorland Heritage Tour, which takes place on 23 to 27 August, travels through the Eastern Cape this year.
Every year, over the Heritage Day weekend, the SCOCC holds it’s Erfenis Toer, and this year will be the third year that this very popular and successful event will be held. The first year, the route took us through various small towns along Route 62 and then to L’Aghullas, the southernmost point of Africa.
The route schedule for the second year was planned around Jefferies Bay, Port Elizabeth and surrounding areas including a trip to the VW Museum in Uitenhage and the Addo Elephant Park.
